I am trying to determine what type of weed this is as it is spreading in our neighborhood. I think it might be creeping Jenny but not sure. Thank you for your help. Jane

Hello and thank you for contacting AaE for help.

This is bittersweet nightshade (Solanum dulcamara). It is a particularly aggressive weed that spreads by suckering from its roots. The fruit can make you ill.  Here is more information about bittersweet nightshade.

If you don't want it, pull it to remove it and make sure you get all of the root. Also, get it before it fruits. The fruit are easily squished like tiny tomatoes. Then it's hard to collect all the seeds that spill out.

I hope this helps.
