This looks like a beg bug. They are a type of bug that feeds on blood, but they do not transmit disease. In some people, their fecal matter can cause an allergic reaction. Bed bugs can be brought into the home by way of a suitcase (if you've traveled recently), in used furniture, boxes, or by hitching a ride if you have sat in a public area where there were bed bugs present.

Don't panic. The best way to start dealing with bed bugs is to educate yourself about them and what you should do. Start by reading our information about bed bugs. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/bed-bugs
