Can you tell me what these brown spots are and how to treat it? Is it from an insect or a fungus?

This damage is from the 4lined plant bug, either the nymph or the adult. There is no need to do anything since the feeding will stop soon. If the plants become unsightly you can prune off the affected areas. The health of the plant should not be affected. It is difficult to treat with an insecticide since the bugs are rarely seen.
