These are all over the house and trees. It appears they are mating, they don't seem to be eating. They were even hanging around on my car parked next to the boulevard.
Neighbors up and down the block and 3 to 4 blocks away have reported these "swarms". They're not exactly swarming but there are thousands of them in my yard. I don't think I've seen them before and if I have not this many.

I believe that it’s a caddisfly. This is the time of year that they emerge from streams and lakes. They only live a short while and should be gone soon. They aren’t harmful to humans and indicate that you have a healthy water system nearby.
i'm about 3/4 of a mile from the Mississippi and maybe half a mile from Shingle Creek. They''re just all over even in the soil of my potted tomatoes, any soil for that matter.
