We had some portions of our yard reseeded last summer & this spring there is all this lighter color green grass coming up along with "regular" looking grass. We are not particularly fond of this lighter grass & it seems to shoot up taller & faster than the other grass. It kind of looks like rye grass but not sure. What is it? What can you tell me about it?

It's possible that this was seeded from the straw used at planting time.
If there's not a lot of it, we suggest hand pulling.
In late summer into fall overseed this area to thicken it up.
