Not sure what rock this is. Found in the woods for science project. Maybe too weathered.

Thank you for contacting eXtension with your question about the rock you found. I'm not a geologist but it appears to be sedimentary rock. I am guessing limestone/shale with quartz inclusions . check out this map of Michigan's bedrock. http://geo.msu.edu/extra/geogmich/images/Bedrock_Geology_Lithology%20map.jpg
At the surface there is likely to be a lot of sandstone but because of the glaciers. The rocks on the surface are variable and can be anything that was lifted from the bedrock and ground, to rocks that were moved and deposited from somewhere else as the ice melted.
