What is this plant? #422880

This stuff is popping up all over our flower beds. It doesn't seem to have any intention of blooming. What is it? I don't think it is anything we planted.

We do not recognize this as a weed. It may be a ground cover.
Keep an eye on it. It should bloom this fall (plenty of time for that), or it may have a bloom that went unnoticed.
If you see either bloom or seed in the next few weeks, send us a photo. Photos of the root system would be very helpful in identifying it.

Well, we have figured it out ... it's Sweet William (a biennial)! We did, indeed, plant it from seed last year. It bloomed but then we sort of forgot about it. We are looking forward to the next bloom.
