Orange raspberries #420858

Asked August 12, 2017, 8:06 PM EDT

Hello, I found a really neat ground cover that has orange raspberry like fruit. The foliage is small, dense and has clover like leaves. The berries are aggregate and bright orange. What is the plant? Are the berries edible to humans and chickens? Would this be ok to plant next to a lawn or do I run the risk of a take over?

It would really help to have pictures of your ground cover plants, leaves and fruit. Based on your description it may be a creeping raspberry.  If so it is safe to eat, though the berries are tiny.  The plant is a perennial and grows well, but is not invasive.  This article,  Creeping Raspberry  http://backyardfruitguide.blogspot.com/2012/02/creeping-raspberry-perfect-fit-for.html, gives more information on the plant and how to grow it.
