Also I water my tree by the tree trunk should I be doing it on the outer perimeter of the leaves ? #420205

My umbrella Catalpa is getting yellow on the leaves and brown around the edges my tree also has a weeping area what does that mean ? I live in Nevada Fallon Nevada .

Is it possible for you to send photos?

By your description you could be having moisture issues or possibly salt issues associated with the soil. Insects may also be a possibility with not only the browning of the leaf but also the weeping. Is the weeping or oozing coming from the branches, trunk or the leaves.

With our hot temperatures it is critical to make sure the trees receive enough moisture, but that we do not drowned the trees. If your tree has been planted for a few years you wan to make sure that the water basin around the tree has been expanded and that the tree is getting a good soaking once to twice a week depending on your soil conditions.
