15-0-30 Fertilizer #418909

Asked August 03, 2017, 8:25 AM EDT

My last soil test from U Extension recommended 15-0-30 composition for fertilizer for my vegetable garden. I have searched the internet for something that would come close to this ratio to no avail. There are no-phosphorous lawn fertilizers galore but they seem to be very low in potash in general. Can you offer any recommendations? Would be okay to use a lawn fertilizer to get nitrogen with no phosphorous and then add the potassium another way?

Hennepin County Minnesota

Expert Response

Yes, it's OK to apply the nitrogen and potassium separately as you have suggested.
