what are these? #418740

these were found on leaves of a Japanese Iris. What are they and/or what will they become. Have never seen them before on any of my plants. In a small flower garden, half sun. half shade. Nearest pine trees are half a block away.

Those are bagworms and it is pretty uncommon to have them on flowers.
