Aspen insect damage care #417316

Asked July 27, 2017, 3:22 PM EDT

Hello, I have two Aspens (8-9 years old) that I let grow from offshoots of an Aspen that has been around for about 30 years. There are little bugs on the leaves, causing some to die. I enclosed some photos. Any idea what they are and best way to treat the trees without damaging nearby rose bushes? Thanks, Di

From the photos you provided you most likely have aphids. feel free to bring in a sample of a leaf, or a branch to the extension office. For seven dollars a horticulturalist can try to accurately identify the issues. thank you so much for your question and please feel free to contact us with any other question you have.

Thanks. You can barely get lunch for $7 these days. It's aphids. Thanks also for the resources!
