I have a willow in my yard that within a weeks time has is yellowing, turning brown and losing the leaves. I am attaching two phots dated within a day of each other so you can see how much a day changes this tree. I need help in identifying the cause of this and what can be done if anything to save the tree. I have contacted an arborist but have not heard back from them yet.

I cannot diagnose what is happening based on a couple of photos. I think your plan to have an arborist look at the tree is the best idea.
I have a couple of thoughts. First, check this diagnostic site:

Second, I would associate sudden failure like this to a vascular system problem. Something is preventing the normal flow of water up the trunk. This could be stem girdling roots, some mechanical damage, or something else.
