Linden Tree infestations #416486

Asked July 24, 2017, 2:37 PM EDT

What if anything, should I do about a 35 foot Linden trees that have in aphid infestation but a much more damaging infestation of Japanese Beetles. About 30-40% of the leaves are ,at least in part, lacy and brown. In the past few days the number of beetles in the trees is quite diminished but there are quite a few remaining.

Jeff Hahn just wrote a blog about Japanese beetles this month. The link to it is below. With trees as large as yours management is done by tree care companies. Grub treatment is also necessary from mid-July to September. Grubs live in turf and are treated with multiple applications of insecticide that specifies it is for Japanese Beetles. Treatment with insecticide if you have determined grubs are present in your turf. I have also placed a link below with information on treatment options. http://blog-yard-garden-news.extension.umn.edu/2017/07/dealing-with-japanese-beetles.html?m=1 http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/insects/find/japanese-beetles/
