Dying maple tree #413060

Asked July 10, 2017, 10:42 AM EDT

We have a red maple tree that I think might have verticillium wilt . What can we do to save the tree? Who should we contact? Can it be saved?

Hennepin County Minnesota

Expert Response

It looks as though it could be a fungus called anthracnose. I hav placed a link below that has pictorials and information regarding it. With the decline you show I would suggest you contact a local tree care company and request an arborist come take a look at it. http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/trees-shrubs/anthracnose/
