Elbert County Colorado
Expert Response
Per your picture this does not look like sage. Sage has silvery hues and does not have yellow flowers. When you crumble the leaves they smell like sage. Is the flower sticky/gummy. It looks like Gum Weed. It appears you are in El Paso county if you are in Ramah. I would recommend you contact them at<personal data hidden>. If you could send them a close up picture of the leaf and one of the flower for clearer identification. Thanks!
Good morning!
I have attached some better pictures.
The leaves have a peppery sage scent when they are crushed and are slivered and fuzzy with smooth edges. The older stems are very woody. The flowers are not sticky and are relativity dry.
The flowers look like a gum weed flower with smooth pointed tipped petal, but the leaves don't seem to fit.
Our address is in Ramah, but we are north of the town and are in Elbert county.
Thank you for your time!
Hello,
We need some more clues to identify your plant.
Could you please send another picture and put a ruler next to it so we can see the size of the plant?
Also where is this growing on your property? Is it in a field or in the garden?
Is it being watered regularly or is it growing wild?
With the additional information we should be able to ID the plant.
Thank you.

I hope you are having a nice weekend!
The plant is growing wild all over the 60 acres. I've attached some more pictures I took yesterday just after the rain storm.
Thank you!
This is a Heterotheca (Golden Aster). It is considered a wildflower in Colorado.
