Hello, I have big, healthy bergenia plant. I would like to divide and transplant part of it to another location in my garden. What is the best way to do this? And when is the best time? If possible, I would like to do this in the fall. Thank you for your help. --Nancy Giguere

I followed the link and learned that spring-blooming perennials should be divided in the fall. However, the chart recommends that bergenia be divided in the spring or summer. Is this because Bergenia has a rhizome and needs time to set roots?
I believe that's the reason.
