Disease in Pea Plants #410514

Asked June 28, 2017, 4:36 PM EDT

Hello- I have a disease in my pea plants, and I'm wanting to know if the peas will be safe to eat, and if they should be removed from the garden ASAP. It looks like a Blight to me, but the fuzz inside the pod around the lesion is concerning to me. There isn't any noticeable order inside the pods. Thanks, and please let me know if there is any additional information that would be helpful. Regards, Tim

I only have one a picture to look at so it is difficult to have an opinion about how serious a problem is affecting your peas. I have grown peas
for many years and yours do not look like they have blight but I only have photos to look at.
If the peas have  a disease they will not keep long and will spoil before they reach maturity. Diseases of peas usually cause problems with yields
and quality. They rarely make the peas unsafe to eat but they do make them un appetizing and of poor quality.
