This looks like a persimmon tree (Diospyros virginiana). Take a look at this website to compare the characteristics of the flowers, bark, etc., with what you see on your tree. http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/trees/plants/persimmon.htm The dark, blocky bark is a distinctive characteristic of the persimmon tree.
