Problems (new) with my lawn grass. #403775

I have the ground tested (this was the year-I was told that everything is fine. I have regular feedings from Prolawn. This year I have notice that individual blades look heathy but the tips are brown about a 1/4 of an inch-they look like triangles. It is in the front yard and the back but not all consistently in an any area. This is not brown spot the grass is very green and looks good.
The grass is not like a mowed too deep, the blades are tipped but some are short snd others are long in the same area.

Expert Response
We had our plant pathologists look at your photo and they do not think this symptom is indicative of any type of turf disease. The leaf tip dieback can be an indicator of nitrogen deficiency, or it could be a root issue; we are unable to tell for sure from the photo. If the grass overall looks good and green and your nutrient test looked fine, it is probably not something to be too concerned about. Keep an eye on it as the weather gets drier and see if there are any changes in the symptoms.

Hello,
One of our plant pathologists sent this additional response today, in regards to your recent question and photo about the triangular-shaped tip browning in your turf.
"Without seeing the sample, I am not sure what could be causing the issue. Dull mower blades can impact the tips, but I would think that would be more uniform across the lawn and not concentrated as the homeowner described. He is correct that it is not Brown Patch. Ascochyta leaf blight can cause symptoms similar to what is described. There are multiple species of Ascochyta that could be present. If it is Ascochyta, a fungicide should not be required as this is not typically a big issue. It may clear up once we get some extended days of sunshine. Best to adequately fertilize, which appears to be happening via ProLawn, irrigate in the morning if providing irrigation, and mow when the turf is dry."
