Bug identification #403656

Asked May 31, 2017, 2:55 PM EDT

I have a VERY tiny bug that i found today and was hoping to get help identifying.  I have taken bed bug classes while working for the county in the past and do not believe it is a bedbug, but wanted to see if anyone had any idea what it actually is.  I can not get any better photos of it as it is that small.  My camera can not focus on it any closer.  First photo is best I can get, second is a magnified section of the photo, but pixilates it, third is supposed to be a perspective photo near the tip of a standard ball point pen.  When i first noticed it I attempted to squish it between my thumb and forefinger a couple of times and it would not crush.  Not sure if that is of any help.  Any advice would be much appreciated!

We appreciate you attempt to provide a good photo. However, it really is not possible to clearly see the insect.  My camera won't focus to that size either. I have two possibilitites for you.

First, check out this online site for bug identification - http://bugguide.net/node/view/15740    Since you have the insect this might be a good way to ID it.

Second, take the sample to your county extension office. The Franklin County office is downtown Columbus and the address and phone number are below.

I hope this will help you resolve this. Here is a good resource on bed bugs so you can reassure yourself that it is not it.
Best regards,
