I noticed today a couple hundred cicada hulls under our maple trees on Ashley Drive in Rockville.
We didn't hear any cicadas at all, but these bugs look just like it. -- Isn't it way too early for them to emerge?

There is currently an emergence of periodical cicadas, which are different from the annual cicadas we typically see in the summer. These are possibly an accelerated emergence from the periodical Brood X, or Brood VI.
