Wooded lot problems #396890

We are having difficulty getting ground cover to grow in our wooded lot. Can you recommend a ground cover indigenous to the area that will grow in shade? We have trouble with the attached photo of a weed that wants to spread. It is pickery and spreads fast. Any ideas on what to use to get rid of it? Heavily wooded lot with little shade.

It may be one of the native ribes.
There are also native grass and sedge that tolerate shady conditions.

You may want to consider planting a mix of shade loving native wildflowers. There are several companies in MN and WI that sell both native seeds and plants. Select the plant varieties that match your soil texture ( clay, sand, loam) and light conditions. There are also native grass and sedge that tolerate shady conditions.
