How do bulbs travel to the middle of nowhere? I was walking through some deep woods this morning and came upon a daffodil and no one I've encountered throughout the day could give me an explanation.

Expert Response
Bulbs (like the daffodil), seeds, and other parts of plants can propagate new plants. Reproductive parts of plants can move through the wild by animals, wind, and water. Sometimes animals dig them up and move them. Heavy rains and/or flooding can move them. Wind can move lighter parts or parts that have been dug up. I can't tell you for sure how this daffodil was relocated but there's a good chance a squirrel dug it up and moved it into the woods for safe keeping.
