House bat in winter #380201

Asked December 20, 2016, 8:01 PM EST

Not sure what to do with this guy in the middle of a cold December. Anybody that would be interested in saving him or any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Rob

Expert Response

See our publication on excluding bats from the home. I am thinking he will hibernate a bit, so may not move much. Once you think they can survive out you would put up an one-way door to rid yourself of the bat. In many countries bats are considered a good luck charm to a home. Most are insect eaters and will fill their weight in flying pests.
