source for cover crop seed #376587

Asked November 11, 2016, 10:58 AM EST

I would like to sow a cover crop even this late in the season. Where can I find cover crop seed either in the Metro or within ~30 miles? I would prefer clover but any cover crop seed would be acceptable. Thanks!

First, here is an Extension publication to help you determine and manage a cover crop or "green manure". http://www.extension.umn.edu/garden/yard-garden/vegetables/green-manure-cover-crops-for-minnesota/

Second, for seed sources, consult Plant Information Online, a database managed by the Andersen Horticultural Library of the MN Landscape Arboretum. You can enter a plant name (common or scientific) and find sources to contact about plants and / or seed.
