Clay County South Dakota

Expert Response

Thanks for your question.  It appears to be a Aesculus hippocastanum, or horse chestnut tree.  Leaves and nuts very dried out, and ID  of leaves, especially, is easier when they are green.  But it is a tree found in South Dakota (and listed as a fire resistant landscape plant.
