Planting of forage radish as cover crop in home garden #372720
Asked October 25, 2016, 5:29 PM EDT
I read publication FS824 and planted forage radish as a cover crop in early Sept. in my garden. I seeded the ground pretty heavily, maybe 2-3/inch. Should I thin the seedlings to get the full benefit of the plant as a cover crop? If so, how far apart should they be? thank you

The spacing of your forage radish should be fine at 2-3 inches apart, but not 2-3 plants per inch. Sounds like some thinning is called for if it is the latter.
