Alpacas and douglas fir Christmas trees #371457
Asked October 20, 2016, 11:42 AM EDT
I am considering getting some alpacas to keep the weeds down in our douglas fir christmas tree field. Will alpacas eat the christmas trees if I put them in the same field? They are 3-5' tall doug firs. I have read both that they will graze on trees and that they tend to leave trees alone. So I am not sure if they will or they won't. Thanks!

I don't know. However I do know that deer browse Douglas fir without toxicity issues. I also think Alpaca would probably graze on the trees too.
