What type of potted plant is this? #364847

I'm curious which type of plant this is. It's in a little pot where I work. I'm sure it's some type of philodendron but not sure if there is a specific type. Thanks!

Thanks for your plant ID question!  There are 2 plants that look a lot alike (to me), and I just want to mention both of them and tell you how they are distinguished one from the other.  As you mention, it may be a variegated philodendron, which means that there are 2 or more colors on the leaves.  Some, the white and green cells are almost the same number; others, like yours, have berry little white.  Here's a link to an article on philodendrons and their care.

The other possibility, though, is that it is ahoya carnosa or wax plant.  Here's a link to care of them.  With enough light, wax plants produce beautiful flowers.

The difference between them, in terms of identification, is the thickness of the leaves, and I can't tell from your photo how thick they are.  If rubbery, then it's a wax plant.

Hope this helps.  Enjoy!
