Regal prince oak tree #364725

Asked September 22, 2016, 9:02 AM EDT

We planted the regal prince oak tree just for five days ago. Here's a photo what it's starting to look like. What can we do or not do to help this tree stay healthy? It's in a sunny spot. We live out in Denmark Township.

Ramsey County Minnesota

Expert Response

Transplant shock is normal. Be sure your tree gets at least an inch of water a week. If we get a lot of rain (many parts of the state are) check soil moisture before watering. Don't water if the first two inches of dirt are wet.  Over watering will harm the tree as much as under watering.
