Insects on Rose of Sharon #364141

Asked September 20, 2016, 8:06 AM EDT

The blossoms of my Rose of Sharon are covered with hundreds of insects that look similar to lady bugs but are grey. They've killed every bloom. They are not on the leaves

Hi there

It is hard to tell from the photos but I believe it is some type of beetle.  Spraying with most general pesticides you pick up at your local garden center should take care of the insects.  This time of year your Rose of Sharon should be going dormant and the damage most likely is not permanent.
