In September, plant is 4.5' tall, flowering. Flowers seem to be yellow in bud, but go to a small dandelion-puff right away, leaving behind a naked disk similar to that of a dandelion.

The pictures look like two different plants?? I cannot identify the plant on the left. The plant on the right is called horseweed (Conyza canadensis). It is an annual plant. Link below provides more detailed information.
