Eliminate #362268

Asked September 13, 2016, 12:36 PM EDT

We have black hardwood mulch in our flower beds that is shooting Artillery Fungus droplets all over our car, house, lower windows, etc. Is there a spray fungicide (or other product) available that we can use over the mulch to eliminate this messy, hard-to-remove, stuff? I need help, and would appreciate any guidance you might provide. Thank you.

Expert Response

There is no effective fungicide for artillery fungus, nor any kind of sealer that we've heard of.  Generally, your best bet is to remove the mulch that has the spores.  Don't reuse it elsewhere unless it is far from anything problematic, such as a shed or lawn furniture.  Possibly throw it in a woods. You can also bag it and send it to the landfill. Replace with fresh mulch or groundcover.
