Invasive Underground (vine) #360965

Asked September 08, 2016, 8:13 PM EDT

Plant appears to be a vine above ground, but travels at least 50 ft. under ground. Has 2in violent flowers that will open in 2 days. Treating each instance above ground doesn't stop it. It just pops up 2 ft away.

The lobed leaves and violet flowers make be think this is Ipomoea hederacea. Common name is ivyleaf morning glory. Compare your plant to images online. Is this it? Here is information page from Virginia Tech: https://oak.ppws.vt.edu/~flessner/weedguide/ipohe.htm
