What kind of plant is this? #358973

This plant has grown quickly yet beautiful. I was wondering if this was a weed or a plant?

This is a variety of amaranth, commonly called pigweed. The leaves and seeds are edible, though I don't find them tasty. Here is an interesting link: http://www.aihd.ku.edu/foods/Pigweed.html
