Spots on leaves #356637

Asked August 25, 2016, 8:29 PM EDT

Hello, I've got a fairly young tree that's got some brown spots on the leaves. The spots are only on the upper portion of the canopy as well as on the more "sunny side". Could you take a look and let me know your thoughts? It's an ornamental pear of some sort.  :)

Expert Response

Hello,

Thank you for your question. The spots on the leaves from your pear tree appear to be the result of eriophyid mites. This damage should be considered aesthetic and not pose a long-term danger to the tree. If you have further questions, please let us know.
