Is one way better? Post bloom fold the leaves back and put a rubber band around them OR cut the leaves off 4 inches high or so?

We discovered a damaged rim joist on a project in Green Mountain Falls just west of Colorado Springs. We have some pictures of the green insect; it does not look like the pictures of Emerald Borers I see online. Can you tell us what it is?

How to eliminate speedwell, not grass #745378

I have a lot of speedwell taking over my lawn. There too much to weed by hand. It is crowding out the grass in places. I'd like to get rid of it. What is the most effective means? Are there pesticides that will target this weed but not hurt my grass?

We are building a home on a lot with a large slope/sandy soil that is prone to erosion; we have cleared the buckthorn and other invasives but want to plant something right away will have a good root system and spread quickly; and look beautiful. I've looked at your native plant recommendations but it's hard to tell what will be best for our situation. Can you give advice?

I built a raised vegetable bed and used treated plywood for the bed/base---should that be covered with some type of material to prevent leaching into the soil?---and if so what material is best? Should I drill some drainage holes in the base?---Thanks
