Hello,
This is a type of mint.  Sometimes you will hear it called Field Mint.  We have it in the OSU horse pastures as well and it was identified by our weed specialist.  She did not seem concerned that it was in the horse pastures.  Our horses don't eat it either even when there is nothing else to eat.  With that said I will do some double checking to see if it is indeed poisonous if consumed.
