Expert Response

You are correct, this epicormic growth (suckers) can signal stress. Has the area around the tree in question been under stress by digging around roots, compaction of surrounding soil lately by equipment or vehicles, run into my a lawn mower, suffer storm damage?  -  Lori

No, not that I can tell.....just normal weed eating around the mulch pit...the other ten seem to be doing fine? could I inject it with iron, or some type of fertilizer???

Is it possible to send pictures of the tree, close up and the whole tree?
It will help with a visual of what is going on.
