Is this an exotic mimosa seedling? #351611
Asked August 09, 2016, 2:07 PM EDT
I've seen a few of these seedlings pop up in my garden beds.
A neighbor did add a couple mimosa trees (Albizia julibrissin) to her garden recently and I've heard mimosa trees can be very invasive, so I thought perhaps this is a mimosa seedling?

Dear Willianson Co, TN, Yes, the seedling is a mimosa tree. Just pull them up if you do not want them. I would suggest to mention to your neighbor about its invasive nature, but that could cause an argument. I trust this helps. Blessings. - Andy
Thank you for your response and for confirming my suspicions, Andy.
I'm on friendly terms with my neighbor, who is a lovely person and an enthusiastic gardener. I have mentioned the invasiveness concerns to her previously and will take the opportunity to show her these seedlings before I pull them. I doubt she'll get rid of her two mimosa trees, but at least she'll know what to look for so that she can pull whatever mimosa seedlings pop up in her own yard!
