Any idea of what is killing this and another similar "rebloom" azalea? They are coral amazement, bought from Behnke's in 2015. The bark from the ground up is turning black, and leaves are wilting. Other azaleas nearby are ok.

Has there been any change or vehicle traffic within the planting area?
We wonder about a root problem. Look closely at the lower bark for damage from voles or other rodents.
Most likely though may be the root rotting disease called Phytophthora. Take a look at the publication for this. Is the soil wet or does the area drain well? Downspout nearby?
We can't see a clear image of the blackened areas of the base, but look closely there for symptoms.
