yellowing baptisia and brown tips on leaves #349246

Asked August 02, 2016, 11:24 AM EDT

hi. Over the last 2 months, two of my three baptisias are going south. The two doing poorly are lemon meringue and carolina moonlight. The one that is staying healthy is a straight species, purple smoke or something like that. Are the plants dying, or just not happy with all this heat & humidity? thanks so much for your time!

Expert Response

Diseases are uncommon for this plant.  We do not know about those specific cultivars and susceptibility to disease. It has been humid and wet. Our best suggestion is to cut back them back, discard, and see if they come back next year. mh
