Little yellow flowers #349162

Asked August 02, 2016, 6:28 AM EDT

Hi there, Just wondering what this small yellow flower is? I'm not squashing the petals in the picture, that's how the flowers grow -- with the two curved petals on top and the three jutting out from the bottom. It was a small ground level plant. Regards, Brigitte

Hi,
it is growing in Beaconsfield in Victoria, Australia. It is growing mostly at the base of other small trees, but in both sun & shade. Normal elivation. It's winter here so it was rather damp but i assume they grow in dry/hot conditions too since it gets like that in summer,

This is Goodenia ovata. Here is the page about it from the Australian Native Plant Society: http://anpsa.org.au/g-ova.html
