Thank you for contacting the CSU Master Gardener Office. I am sorry to hear about your trees. Hail on our plants and trees is heartbreaking and can do great damage as you know. About your crabapple tree, to best diagnose what you are describing, a photo of the whole tree, and then a couple of different angles of the affected part would greatly help us better determine what may be the issue. If you would like to send photos of your other trees we would be happy to look at those as well. You will need to send small images and one photo at a time as our computer system is set up this way. Let us know what area in Douglas County you are located in as well.
