Hello,
After looking at your pictures, it appears as if your tree might be stressed and shedding its needles. When did you first notice the damage? It's encouraging to see that the ends of the branches look healthy and have new growth. I'm attaching a couple "Plant Talk" links that might help you.

Another option may be to contact an arborist to diagnose your tree.
