My cat found this bug it's hard bodied 2 sections the back is larger it makes a snapping noise and jumps like a grasshopper but not as elegant.

From the photo it appears to be a click beetle in the family Elateridae. They do not harm human or animals. The larvae feed on plant roots and are called wireworms.
