Is something eating my green pepper plants ? #340531

Asked July 07, 2016, 5:48 PM EDT

When we left for vacation, our green pepper plants had many baby peppers and blossoms . We returned yesterday, and it seems like something is eating the leaves and stems. We have a 1 inch chicken wire cage around our square-foot garden and are wondering what could be eating them.

Yes, it looks to me like an enemy has found a weak spot in the fortress! But if it's not continuing you won't have to worry. Obviously, the rascal did not choose the beans--this is a very odd occurrence. All nuisance wildlife love beans! Therefore I would wait and watch.

Could it be a rodent? One deer chomp and he could have done that damage in one bite and then moved on. Could deer have  reached over the wire? Again the fact that the beans are untouched, it was momentary damage.

You have a very nice fortress. Well made!

Wait and watch if the enemy strikes again - by all appearances, I doubt he hits again.
