Found a truly white tick #335676
Asked June 23, 2016, 2:51 PM EDT
I am a veterinarian in Lake Oswego, and just removed a white tick from a dog. The tick is yellow-white, not grey-white. I cannot identfy it. Unfortunately, it is in formalin (I am not concerned about diseases it may carry). Can you advise me as to what type of tick it is, or whom to ask?

The best option is the Insect Id Clinic at OSU (http://www.science.oregonstate.edu/bpp/insect_clinic/). It might be easiest to work through your county Extension office but you could also contact them directly.
