poop pellets found in room at the foot of the bed #335039

Asked June 21, 2016, 7:30 PM EDT

Hello, I was wondering if someone could identify this poop? I found these pellets at the foot of my bed and when I first saw them I thought rabbit poop, but I don't have any animals so I'm not entirely sure how it came to be in my bedroom.

Expert Response

Does look a bit like rabbit pellets.  Hard to say.

I haven't found anymore besides that. Do you know of any other animal that could get into a home that would produce pellets? Someone told me caterpillars could but they seem a bit big for a caterpillar.

No, rabbits seem to be the only ones with pellets. The ID site says deer, elk, llamas and rabbits.  http://icwdm.org/inspection/Scat1.aspx

Caterpillars don't really make a pellet like that and anyway would only produce frass in conjunction with munching on leaves.
Maybe someone is playing a trick on you?
